microcement
modern solution for seamless finish

Brief history

Microcement was invented in response to an architectural need for a thin yet strong and durable finish that is seamless, and has the characteristics of cement, minus the cracking typically seen in cement. It was initially popularized in Europe, particularly Spain and Italy. Over time, microcement became a top choice for architects, interior designers and builders when remodeling homes because of its ease of integration to existing surfaces and wide variety of colors and textures available.

What is microcement?

Microcement is a customizable and durable finish made from cement, sands and resins. It is usually 2-3mm thin and can be overlayed directly to existing surfaces such as tiles, cement and carpentries. Different textures and colours can be achieved by manipulating the sand sizes, pigments and application technique. There are various types of microcement right now in the market to suit the design and also usage requirements.

why you should MICROCEMENT?

Microcement can be directly overlayed on existing surfaces

With Microcement, there is no need to hack existing surfaces. It can be directly applied to any stable base, forming a "skin" that is both aesthetically unique and durable. In addition, it saves both time and cost in a renovation.

Microcement is a durable finish

Unlike cement, Microcement never cracks because the resins present gives it flexibility. If microcement appears to crack, it means that there was some movements in the substrate that it was applied on. Microcement is a floor grade material and has no issues with roller chairs or heels.

Microcement is a customizable finish

Depending on how your desired finish is, an experienced applicator can modify the application method or add additives to vary the final outcome. From either a clean and purist look to an distressed industrial style, microcement is your solution.

Microcement is a seamless finish

With no grouts, microcement is able to establish continuity in any space. It makes a room feel larger and creates a calming effect. Cleaning is also easier to be cleaned without the grouts. Daily cleaning with mild detergent is sufficient to maintain the microement.
