Microconcrete | Fullerton Waterboat
Microconcrete Bar Counter Application at Fullerton Waterboat House, Singapore
For this commercial bar project located at the rooftop of the iconic Fullerton Waterboat House, we specified high-performance microconcrete over standard microcement for its superior surface hardness and resistance to harsh commercial cleaning chemicals.
By applying a thicker 5mm profile (compared to standard 3mm microcement), we ensured the surface retains enough body for future maintenance polishing and long-term commercial longevity.
Application Process & Technique:
Initial Surface Polish: The microconcrete base layer was ground and polished to establish a flat, structural foundation.
Pore Filling & Cream Coat: Similar to traditional terrazzo techniques, a specialized slurry cream coat was applied to fill micro-voids and minimize open surface pores.
Final Polish & Seal: The bar was given a second precision polish before being finished with a high-grade stone sealer for maximum stain resistance.
Hand-Troweled Precision: Navigating tight corners and structural obstructions, our hand-applied microconcrete achieves a seamless, joint-free finish where tiles or vinyl fall short.
